We (or you) Make Snow

Just like the snowguns you find at ski resorts, we do the same but on a smaller scale, bringing real snow to your location, serving WNC.

We have several snowguns to make snow onsite, creating a winter wonderland for your family and friends to enjoy. You don’t have to do a thing!

The snowmaking season across WNC typically begins in late October in the valleys, ending along the ridgelines around late March.

Snowmaking

Our turnkey solution. You do not have to anything. We show up and make snow for you to enjoy your snowy scene!

Rental

Our most popular option. We deliver the snowgun and teach you how to make snow; very easy to run, simply hookup and aim.

Snowballs

We bring large coolers full of pre-made snowballs to the event, a big hit for kid birthday parties or gatherings.

Expectations

We tell clients to expect a 12′ x 20′ area with 10 – 18″ of snow in the center, tapering down to an inch or two on the edge; after one overnight 6 – 8 hour session. Weather conditions determine snow type, amount, and whether we can make snow at all.

In ideal conditions (temp below 27F, little to no wind) we can make much more. In the instance you rent or book a snowmaking date and weather conditions do not pan out, all you owe is a small deposit (our gas and delivery time).

With this amount of snow you can make snowmen, have numerous snowball fights till your arm tires, shovel to make a sled run (or we can cover a hillside) and have plenty left over after you’ve had your fill.

FAQs

Where is your service area?

All of WNC, but we have been known to take a job in N GA, Upstate of SC and perhaps the Piedmont (if the weather cooperates).

How many snowballs come in a cooler?

We fill each cooler with 100 snowballs, packed in with shaved snow. When unpacking some of this shaved snow will stick but should dust right off.

How many snowballs will I need?

If I’m a kid I would want at least 10 to throw, any more would be a bonus. A party of 15 kids can go through 150 balls in under ten minutes.

What is the maximum amount of snow you can make?

If we can make snow several days leading up to the event, we could lay down a 20′ x 20′ area with 3 – 6 FEET in the center.

How much is the deposit?

It varies but at a minimum we charge $60 for a deposit, going as high as $150 for our larger events (weddings or festivals). This amount is agreed upon before delivery or work begins.

How loud is the snowgun?

Loud outside, it’s an air compressor and pressure washer, but its not too loud that it bothers you inside the home. Most folks do not hear it inside. We advise clients to check their noise ordinances and/or let their neighbors know.

What if we schedule a snowmaking session and the weather doesn’t allow for snow to be made?

This can and does happen. We cannot control the weather, but we are very much tied into the forecast, typically knowing if we cannot make snow 6 – 10 days out, with confidence we can make snow as soon as 4 – 6 days out. We will message the client if snowmaking is not doable, requesting the deposit (agreed upon before booking).

What do you need from my house/location to make snow?

Our snowguns are custom made to run off two regular outlets and one spigot. We may trip breakers, but generally running each piece of equipment on separate outlets avoids this issue.

Is there a maximum number of days we can rent the snowgun?

You can rent the snowgun for up to seven days at the current rate, any longer requires a custom estimate.
